    Hard agree.

Though I don’t think I’ll be voting Avi Lewis ever. I really do not like what the NDP as a party is, and I don’t like the people involved in it currently.

The NDP still needs a leader who can edit down their list of causes to a practical list and explain how that benefits all working Canadians. The message isn’t making it through because there’s no clear message, and calling Carney the enemy doesn’t help at all.

There needs to be a party that can pitch the how a strong social safety net enables lower class Canadians to start businesses and get us all off the multinational corporation’s teat of benefits. In Canada’s whole history we’ve never had so few people starting businesses, we all have our expensive (IMO mostly irrelevant) degrees and houses and nobody can afford to take a risk on a business venture.

More small and medium businesses means more competition on prices, fewer monopolies, better competition for salaries, faster business decisions, and better products.

Our society is stuck in a local optima that makes us weak and life expensive. And that’s by design, heavily influenced by our English power heritage and American cultural proximity.

Avi is a step in the right direction but I agree NDP is still way too “LPC-lite.”

Cuz yea exactly. A NDP with vision would be pushing small business in tandem with social safety net programs. Empowering people to help themselves.

I’m not blind to the fact that Carney’s economics carves out a big chunk of our productivity for the same Epstein-billionare class that is destroying the planet.

But in the face of MAGA-USA imperialism the NDP is not a hill I’m willing to die on.

Yeah that’s largely how I feel too.

I’m not very happy with LPC, I really expected more, but the party at large is fucking stupid.

Given the election options there was no other choice. If an election were held today, I still think there’s no other choice than Carney LPC.
