That’s true, I guess. I don’t know how many weapons we send them - it’s almost all the US and Germany as of last I checked - but it looks like we do have free trade.

Sooo what would the equivalent of that be today? The solution was to separate the warring parties with peacekeepers - separating the parties in this modern conflict amounts to invading and occupying Israel/Palestine, and I don’t even think Canada would win that war. And, Israel’s ally was European colonial powers just pursuing colonial interests, so they could be reasoned with, as opposed to the ideological-religious morass that’s driving the US.
In Kosovo, the mandate of the UN force changed from Peace Keeper to Peace Maker. But you are correct, in the Suez Crisis, they just hated each other. I do not really think either side was particularly genocidal. When one side is ideologically genocidal, probably not much except overwhelming military power will work to keep that side constrained.

Unlike Trump, who tweets indiscriminately, tweets from the Canadian government are not ‘just a tweet’. They are used judiciously and with forethought.
I agree this is just a tweet, but how do we know there’s “zero” action behind it? What available options are not being pursued by the minister?
