Just a thought I had in the middle of the night I wanted to share. The fact that trump and putin are so desperate to further their bullshit and the rest of the billionare garbage that they’re trying to get us (everyone) to accept an oil deal between them is something huge for optimism. Would port workers accept Russian (or US for that matter) oil? That seems like any easy win for unions everywhere to support together. If I wasn’t literally as far as possible from a coast I’d get out of bed now to stop more oil shipments that aren’t needed.

What happens if fuel gets too expensive? More of us get to stay home and the companies and governments and excessive users will have to fund it.

I don’t think we will see union action that prevents consumers from getting fuels.

It’s my understanding that the fuel deal is to limit the public backlash against the government for the impacts of their war. North americans equate their cars with freedom and panic when they can’t get fuel, or it costs too much. There are more severe impacts to fuel shortages (transport cost goes up so costs of goods including food raise, and access to heating fuels becomes limited) but this is the most direct impact the consumer sees.

Even if the union members agree to it, they will face massive backlash.
