Meh, I disagree. I had many posts removed about running vpns on my servers for external access or similar topics that isn’t a “selfhosted” softwared but runs on the damn server.
Just a dood or likes reading and chatting about computers

It’s pretty common line, I’d say much less so IRL, we all got to learn it somewhere :) Yes, I did not mean the evil corpo

They were a mod and frequently removed my posts, on another account, without any reason. Always was for rule three. I love selfhosting, I was trying to ditch reddit for here and they consistently killed the vibe.

This is 95% more information than you can consume or find useful. I cannot get these type of homepages except to have done a thing and feel happy about it. My “homepage” is a link to all my services, but I rarely use it because of that thing in between my ears that allows me to remember what service I want to use.
I don’t think there is a file in my Firefox directory that is Google.com but I get your point, that’s cache tho.
That’s an interesting idea, do I want my website guaranteed to be fully downloaded to someone else’s computer tho lol

Jellyfin respects your folder structure is what I mean!

Music on my server via Soulseek downloads and shares. I share it via SMB share and Jellyfin with tailscale to all my devices.
People often recommend Navidrome but its lack of care for folders irks me.

My journey began with windows, Jellyfin, and qbit. Nice you have done the same! Only reason I switched to Linux is because I wanted servers and hated unraid

64g of ram is pretty darn powerful already!

I never get this problem…? Download the backup file and encrypt it and be done. Family has the file and/or the password, done.

Run fedora server, download docker, download Portainer, run images same as unraid, profit.

Why would you pay for something, now annually, that is essentially a bad Linux webgui , which can be easily achieved for free with any Linux distro? Outside of mixed drives…
Bro, the joke existed before that Lemmy.world post

As a former unraid user and a certified unraid hater—Finally a problem solved by computers since their inception has been solved by unraid… cannot imagine why one uses unraid outside of having a mixed set of drives and only one device.

So you could say it’s a pain… lol, what I just said
how many days I went to fork from the office
you’re certified?
Can I integrate location history from google maps or my running watch or just my phone? Would be interested just in getting that print out of all my runs
Also—why would someone want location history beyond getting that cool map? What does this add that my selfhosted ability to remember where I went doesn’t?

Immich is certainly the best photo experience but how does it handle on Synology devices?
Constantly removing posts with zero communication on why
