2·3 days agoNow I am confused as to how Breezy reports local aqi as unhealthy when Copernicus doesn’t show as such looking at it’s map.
According to the docs , there’s no source for Canadian air quality.

4·8 days agoSure, I mean take your pick. The point is that these are all very mature software products and OP wants to recreate the whole thing for the purpose of being integrated into the web platform. I just don’t see the value in it, personally. It’s not hard to upload files.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Is there anyone that would be interest in doing a video call with me to show me how all this cloudflare/nginx/authentication works? I can payEnglish
2·8 days agoIt has nothing to do with whose setup it is and everything to do with an immense amount of specialized knowledge that requires, at the very least, months to even begin to understand to the extent that you can deploy your own server.

7·8 days ago(like Castopod but more emphasis on recording and editing)
You’re just going to have a hard time competing with what are at this point very polished audio recorders and editors like Audacity and Reaper. The integration with the hosting platform seems unnecessary.
But I wish you the best of luck!

53·9 days agoIt’s a huge problem that so many people act like it’s super easy and simple. It’s incredibly complicated to someone who is not a networking professional.

Are the stats configurable?
And this is why we don’t buy consoles.
That may not be the right terminology. I men it’s decrypted when booting and encrypted when it’s unplugged or shut off.
The big difference is that ente is encrypted.
If you use FDE, Immich is also encrypted but only at rest.

63·12 days agoYou’re a cyber security developer but don’t understand how a compromised device on your network compromises your entire local network?
Don’t mean to be rude but it seems like a basic principle.

16·16 days agoHow do I connect my domain to my server apps?
Go to your domain provider and configure it to point requests to your server IP address. Use reverse proxy to connect those requests to a specific “app”. Most often NGINX.
I have heard the term DNS a million times but don’t really understand it
The oversimplified version is that it’s “the phone book of the internet”. Users domain requests are sent to it and then it forwards said requests to the appropriate IP address.
I’d like to let family access my media server, are there any considerations I need to make?
Are you hosting on a VPS or a home server?
How can I use one domain to access multiple services on my server?
Subdomains
Do I need to pay extra for subdomains?
No.
Serverpartdeals?
Let’s add it to the list of lies:
Keep it going!
