Is it better that everyone has open source everything so that anyone who finds the one-off useful can benefit from it?

Or is the software actually not provided “as-is” like the license states and on releasing open source software the community deserves regular updates?

I think that second option is a very entitled path. We are not entitled to the continued used free labor of a random person on the internet.

Don’t forget to change the database. There were breaking changes there as they moved to a different version in 3.0 which causes error loops.

All of my stuff luckily moved seamlessly without having to restore a backup.

I didn’t know about git LFS (which doesn’t record the history of the files IIRC, just gives a pointer to larger bucket storage), so one of my projects ballooned to 1.2GB and took a lot of time to sync and then doubled when I tried to move to LFS and delete the history of those files, but at least it is fast as hell to push and pull now.

This is a job for Handy. I recently started using it with the Parakeet recommended model. It works very very well. Whisper packaged with Wyoming that I run is pretty much unusable for dutch but Parakeet in Handy seems to work quite well. Direct input of text into whatever program you want. Downloads a small local model and works only on your computer. Push-to-talk or toggle, tons of customizations.

Note that this just speech to text and the models aren’t made for post processing. So it will dictate exactly what you say, umms and everything. If you want cleanup, formatting, etc… Then you have to rely on a much more general model, but the makers are experimenting with an opt-in for that for various external AIs.

Hell, Runkeeper was a thing with a social network before strava and still exists.

It even gives cadence which strava doesn’t do (at least not the free tier), but the Apple cult picked up Strava and it became the runner’s status symbol as Apple devices are yoany people in America/Sweden/etc… and then that spread over the rest of the world.

Every discussion I have seen on the subject says that docker ipv6 is pretty busted from a security perspective and you have to implement a bunch of workarounds.

I don’t have to time both to migrate to podman (and maybe have to run dual stacks for what isn’t available) AND migrate to ipv6. But apparently the way podman does it is also kind of a hacky way (I am far from a networking expert) so I will sit with my pretty decent, secure, and working ipv4 lol
