Yea, Iove Immich, but this almost got me. It moves them to trash unless the volume comes back in 30 days. If 30 days go by, you lose all metadata, scanned people, etc. I was out of town when it happened.

I just want it to not delete things of NFS goes down.

I, like other respondents, don’t care if AI is used, I only care if AI was trusted.

AI is a tool to enhance a workflow, and as long as a skilled human is reviewing it and fixing it, fine.

We would be better off defining a programmer’s project vs an ametuer hour vibe coded monstrosity, but that won’t ever really happen.

• Paid closed source = Advertisement, ban.
• FOSS without free self hosting = Advertisement, ban.
• FOSS with self-hosting but some self-hosted features are paid = Still an advertisement, but MAYBE acceptable if we are being lenient. I don’t like it, personally.
• FOSS with free self-hosting and paid hosted services = Good for them, play on.

This is a security product where trust is paramount, so I get a bit itchy about anything like that, but I could be overreacting.

VaultWarden has contributors working on paid BitWarden features. For instance I’ve been following the LDAP PR for a while now. If they pull users away, they may have users who are unaware when those features release.

That being said, I won’t complain when for-profit companies based on FOSS support self-hosters. It’s good for the industry.
