TEX instead of ODF: Who controls our version controlled plain text files?

Because of course he did and the AI is absolutely not to blame.

I did not just vibe-code “convert test suite to python”. I’m a software engineer with 40 years experience (yeah, I’m OLD!), so I did a design first and had a plan for how to validate it. I used AI tools to do the grunt work because they are good at that. I reviewed every part of it myself and ran through a huge amount of CI time getting it right (I’m since moved to having a bunch of local VMs to do most testing to reduce the CI wait time).
“I did not just vibe code”, proceeds to explain how he vibe coded it. What a joke.
I especially loved the part where he argued he was too old to be vibe coding. Guess it’s supposed to be called vibration writing if you’re over 50?

It’s not.

I work in software. We recently banned that shit. “It’s not going away” my ass, so far all I’ve seen LLMs do is produce a lot of crap nobody could maintain afterwards while seemingly making the people using it dumber in the process.

But I already had my pitchfork ready!
Well… I was obviously wrong. Sorry.
Don’t know if my knowledge was just outdated or plain wrong from the start, but good on you for still trying and respect for pulling that off.
