Banker is gonna bank. The stuff he does to support Canada like refusing to agree to the preposterous trade terms of the US are shit anyone would refuse. PP would have failed on every level and made a fool of himself and the process at least.
The first one in Quebec was torn down. every government agency except local police said they didn’t do it. The local police said ‘we have no idea’ instead of ‘we didn’t do it’. Which probably means they did do it.
Bill C-22 and others that are being forced through and almost law basically increase dependence and sharing with US government and private companies, and we are going to be seeing Flock cameras in Canada… more than we already are.
I used stuff like that for hands free tourist recordings. I never did anything inappropriate with them. Unless you count the time a cop glared at me for looking at them with a suspect cuffed to a bench…
Back in 2016 I bought several ‘dumb’ camera sunglasses. Why? I was going to a spy themed nerd convention and I thought having those would fit the theme. I did use some myself when I went on vacation and used them a POV camera and hands free recording of the places and things I wanted recorded.
They were air-gapped. No Bluetooth or WiFi capability. You had to plug them in to get your stuff out. No cloud storage either. You put in a microSD card.
So I do believe they can have utility… But not in the way these people are using it. Not in the ‘always on always listening and always on the cloud’ bullshit.
I immigrated to Canada in 2007 as an adult and it felt great here. Cost of living and housing was manageable and I felt like I could have a great future then it started going to shit almost immediately and when 2020 hit even before COVID it started feeling like absolute shit and it has been getting worse and worse. Benefits cut and things getting more expensive.
