People have reported regressions with post-3.4.1 versions of rsync. If it’s a coincidence, then it’s one hell of one.

Next, someone should build a unusably slow but completely accurate transistor-level simulation of the 386 (as they did of the admittedly much simpler 6502) and validate this against it to ensure that it actually is 100% accurate.

Has this been audited? It’s easy to claim that something is secure, but there have been products that made such claims and were trivially exploitable.
